Kelly Cameron is a screen editor driven by spreading empathy and creating a connection that reaches through the screen.

Kelly has a constant focus on exploring how to create intimacy between content and viewer through the editing practice. The most recent example of her work is PORCELAIN WAR, an 87 minute feature documentary following Ukrainian artists Slava, Anya, and Andrey. Defiantly finding beauty amid destruction, they show that although it’s easy to make people afraid, it’s hard to destroy their passion for living.

One of Kelly’s favourite projects to work on was MATE, a 33 minute film that explores toxic masculinity in a tense story of a down-and-out has-been attempting to reconnect with an impressionable teenager over a weekend in working-class Western Sydney.

She has experience across drama, documentary, commercial, music video and video art installations. With a strong sense of story, and a love of dance and music that informs her editing practice, she also has a solid background in post production facilities providing a strong technical knowledge which allows her to fully explore the possibilities within the footage.

Kelly has worked with director Dylan River on the feature documentary FINKE: THERE AND BACK, which premiered at the Sydney Film Festival, now available on Stan. And the SBS On Demand drama series ROBBIE HOOD. Both projects had a heavy focus on creating uniquely Australian content.

She edited the latest SAVE THIS RHINO documentary series for National Geographic, and the moving feature documentary M.U.M.

Kelly has also worked with Google’s Creative Lab as a creative collaborator and documentarian pushing the boundaries of art and new technology.
